Mastercard Introduces a New Process for Disputes

Mastercard introduces a new process for escalation disputes, which will save merchants both time and money. This new workflow was put into effect on July 17, 2020.

Arbitration Chargeback (also known as a Second Chargeback) has been abolished and will no longer apply to disputes. Issuers are now able to initiate the following processes following a dispute, pre-arbitration, arbitration, pre-compliance and compliance.
